So today was my day I was able to go out and find the homeless! What a fun day my team and I had! When we prayed, I saw a red bridge with cables going up and someone else saw flags. As we shared this, Rich shared the Salvation Army is a crossed a bridge and it’s sign was red, so we began by going there. We walked into the building just in time to assist in serving the donated food items to all who came. It gave us a wonderful opportunity to first meet their physical needs before meeting their spiritual ones!
After everyone was served and we helped the staff clean up, we left. We passed another bridge and noticed several folks underneath a gazebo. We noticed three flags along the path and believed we were right in the midst of God’s will for us today. As we were walking, we saw the flood gate sign and began singing open up the flood gates!
As we approached the gazebo, I made the comment that it feels as though we are walking into a hornets nest. We noticed several of the gentleman already had bracelets on, so asked the guys who didn’t have one if they would like one. Everyone of us broke off and began our own conversations with two or three folks. There was one guy who became very agitated. We could tell that the darkness could not tolerate the light. He shouted several explicit words and then took off on his bicycle. After about an hour, one of the guys commented that he had never known it to feel as peaceful as it did today. We shared how we were bringing the peace of God with us. They then asked US if we could pray for them before we left. It was awesome! We asked if they could use the hygiene bags that the girls from the Restoration Home made, and they were delighted.

One of the guys I spoke to mentioned how upset he was at his ex-girlfriend for stealing his photo album. I promised to get him one if he would forgive her. He stated he would. So, I got Coach a photo album and had Kacie write 2 Cor. 5:17 on the inside cover for him. I was unable to reconnect with him before I left, but Rich promised to take it to him as he was going to continue reaching out to those guys!
