The second time I went out with Revive Tupelo I ended up leading an amazing team. I questioned if I was ready to be a leader, but I submitted to His authority. We prayed for the Holy Spirit’s prompting and we were given the word green.
We set off and down Green Street. We noticed a lady standing outside her vehicle with her hood up. We ended up helping her move her car out of the road and prayed with her. She promised to encourage her church and pastor to get involved too.
Once we reached crosstown, one of our team members stated we needed to go into Costume World. I thought it was cool because the sign was green. After only a short time, our team members came out with the owner. She thanked us for what we were doing and offered us potato chips that she received from the food pantry. She stated she wanted to give something back in gratitude for the prayer.
We only had 40 minutes before we were supposed to head back to the church, but felt we needed to finish the race well by at least driving between the two church’s that were marked on our team map. We saw a young lady in a green dress walking by herself on the side of the road. I immediately knew I was supposed to reach out to her. She stated she was just kicked out of her family’s home and she needed a place to stay. It just so happens that I work at a shelter. We prayed for her and assisted her in getting to the shelter. We also gave her the chips that we were given during our last stop.
God had the timing down perfect. If we hadn’t made the other two stops, we would have never met her. Something else we found fascinating was that she was pregnant and the green on the bracelet stands for Roman’s 10:9-10 which represents life! How awesome is God?
