This afternoon, I felt led to go to the Tupelo Police Department. My husband is a police officer and it just seemed fitting to pray for the safety and protection of his brothers in blue.
When we got there we met with the Chief. Instead of us leading him in prayer, he began praying over us! He commented that he needed prayer more than anyone and I believe this was the Lord opening a door.
My team prayed with the detective division and then I was able to pray with three of the ladies who work in the front office. One of them was the wife of an officer too. I felt compelled to pray for her peace. I remember worrying every time I heard a siren when my husband first started working patrol. As a result of this leading, I have begun a weekly prayer group for the wives of law enforcement officers. I am encouraging them to become warriors and not worriers.
