Equipping

img_7972This afternoon, I went to lunch with Sarah.  We discussed the spiritual gifts and she shared with me ways to fine tune my gifting.  She also stated the importance of always going back to the base…what the Lord first told me if I get stuck or confused about what to do.  This is where I will find rest and peace, not kayos and confusion.

As we pulled into the restaurant parking lot, we noticed most of the cars were white with one or two black and red ones sprinkled here and there.  Immediately, we knew we would be responsible for taking the light into the darkness.

As we were about to sit at our table, I saw someone with a seductive spirit snarl at me.  I asked Sarah if she noticed it and she stated she wasn’t paying attention.  As she sat down, she instructed me to sit beside her.  I thought this unusual, as I normally would have sat a crossed from her.  As it turned out, she had her back to the enemy…the one with the seductive spirit.  She stated she instinctively knew where to position herself.  She explained it was how the Holy Spirit works.  She encouraged me to only engage with people who He places in front of me and put the darkness to my back as it’s only a distraction!  Through out our conversation, we discussed I didn’t need to intentionally find someone to minister to, the Lord would bring them to me.

As we left, Sarah’s gas tank was on empty.  She stated she wanted to assure the gas had STP in it.  She commented she thought the station at the corner of Main and Thomas did, so we headed there.  We laughed when we saw the name of the station, it was a Marathon.  How appropriate is that?  We need to fuel ourselves for the race before us…He is equipping us for the journey ahead…His power within us allows us to be at our peak performance…I could go on and on!  What a neat confirmation that we were right where we needed to be!  I love my walk and journey with my heavenly Father

I am a daughter of the King of Kings and Lord of Lords! I am humbled that He calls me His own! I am learning to walk more boldly and confidently in who He has created me to be. My prayer is others will come to know Jesus as their Savior, identify with who they are in Him so they too can walk out the calling He’s places on their lives!
