img_9806Gramma often stated “I don’t know why I am still here…” and today, the Lord revealed one reason!

When they moved my gramma to Sanctuary Hospice House, her room was the last one on her hall.  There was a gentleman in the room before hers.  When I passed his doorway, the Lord prompted me to pray for him.  I ignored the prompting at first, but I couldn’t the next day.  I asked the nurse if the gentleman was a believer and she commented she didn’t know.  I explained the Lord had put it on my heart to pray for him and she immediately asked if I wanted her to go with me.  I said yes and the next thing I knew I was standing at his bedside and she was introducing us.  I asked Jessie if it would be ok for me to pray for him.  He nodded yes.  He didn’t say a word, but I shared with Jessie how much the Lord loved him and was pursuing him, as He prompted me to come into his room to pray.  That night before I went to sleep, the Lord kept bringing Jessie to my mind.  I knew the following day, I needed to go a step further and go through the Gospel with him.

The next day as I was walking down the hall, I noticed two women about to go into Jessie’s room.  I tapped one of the women’s shoulder and asked if she knew if Jessie was a believer.  She commented she was uncertain.  I explained the Lord had put it on my heart to go through the scriptures with him.  About an hour later, she came to find me and stated that Jessie was ready to receive Jesus as his Lord and Savior!  Me, Mary Frances, and the nurse went into his room and went through the scriptures with him.  I asked him if he believed in his heart God raised Jesus from the dead for his sins and he nodded his head yes…and the nurse encouraged him to confess it with his mouth and he said “I believe Christ died and rose from the grave and He is now my Savior.”  With tear filled eyes, we all rejoiced with him and he smiled the biggest smile!  We explained to him he was no longer an orphan, but he was now our brother in Christ and the angels were celebrating with us!  I heard the Lord say “I will leave the 99 for the one… and today, Jessie was the one!” Amen?

I am a daughter of the King of Kings and Lord of Lords! I am humbled that He calls me His own! I am learning to walk more boldly and confidently in who He has created me to be. My prayer is others will come to know Jesus as their Savior, identify with who they are in Him so they too can walk out the calling He’s places on their lives!
