Passing the Mantle

img_5755The first opportunity to hit the streets I was able to go on a team with Scott, Martha, and Amy.  We went to Noah’s Project which is a shelter for anyone escaping abuse.  Right away, one of the workers said yes to Jesus!  I loved how the Lord allowed me to return to the work environment that He used me at in Tupelo for 9 years to be able to experience as a team member with the ministry I am now serving Him in!

A few days later Lela and I grabbed a quick supper at a nearby restaurant.  I noticed our waitress was wearing a TTR bracelet so I asked her if someone had prayed for her.  She said no, someone had given it to at Celebrate Recovery last night.  I showed her my jacket, as I had on my CR jacket and she said she wanted it, so I gave it to her.  I then asked if she would allow us to pray for her as she disclosed she was moving out of Noah’s Project into her own apartment and tonight was her last night to work there because she was going to be transitioning into another serving position at another restaurant.  We prayed and I was overwhelmed seeing how this young lady had connections from both the place I used to work and the ministry I had been involved with for almost 10 years.  As I gave her the jacket, I felt as if I was passing her my mantle, just as Elijah threw his cloak around Elisha in 2 Kings 2.  (I was empowering her to walk into something greater and in turn, by releasing something of my past, I am now ready to walk into something new!)

I am a daughter of the King of Kings and Lord of Lords! I am humbled that He calls me His own! I am learning to walk more boldly and confidently in who He has created me to be. My prayer is others will come to know Jesus as their Savior, identify with who they are in Him so they too can walk out the calling He’s places on their lives!
