Almost half of the team had the privilege of staying at Camp Barkeley. As soon as we began driving on the property, we could feel the Lord’s presence. It was such a blessing to have a safe haven to come back to after being in battle all day.
I usually came back to the camp before the rest of my roommates and it was dark on the backside of our cabin where the door was. I thought I had a clever idea to leave the light on all day so I would be able to see to get in the door. However, when we got there that night, the light had attracted lots of bugs. When we opened the door, we had to spend a lot of time killing the bugs that got into our sleeping quarters.
I knew the Lord was trying to get my attention. As we were destroying those pesky invaders, the Lord revealed the longer we as a ministry shine His light, the more we are going to be targeted by the enemy. I heard the Lord say “keep your camp clean.”
That night, we decided to use our phones for light instead of leaving the porch light on all day so we didn’t have as much cleanup to do once returning to camp. I could see we were beginning to operate offensively instead of defensively!
Deut. 23:9-14 “When you are encamped against your enemies, keep away from everything impure. 10 If one of your men is unclean because of a nocturnal emission, he is to go outside the camp and stay there. 11 But as evening approaches he is to wash himself, and at sunset he may return to the camp.
12 Designate a place outside the camp where you can go to relieve yourself. 13 As part of your equipment have something to dig with, and when you relieve yourself, dig a hole and cover up your excrement. 14 For the Lord your God moves about in your camp to protect you and to deliver your enemies to you. Your camp must be holy, so that he will not see among you anything indecent and turn away from you.”
From this one illustration, the Lord showed me numerous things we can intentionally do to fight offensively instead of defensively, amen?!
Angel, the director of the camp, prayed over me and I was laid out for an hour. I have never experienced God’s glory like that before! While I was on the floor, the Lord ministered to me and kept telling me to align with Him! A few days later, Holy Spirit reminded me exactly what that meant. I need to allow my spirit to dominate over my soul (mind, will, emotions) and my body. I cannot understand anything in the spiritual realm, so I have to quit trying to figure out what my fleshly mind cannot grasp! I just need to ask Him and align myself with what He discloses!
