This morning I was able to go to the court house with Jim and Eugene. The first person I prayed for was Heather. Her boyfriend was going before the judge for domestic violence charges and she stated he had been sober for the 20 days he was in jail. She admitted she needed to seek help to quit drinking too. We talked about what changes they would need to make and what services they could utilize for accountability and support.
While I was talking to her, Jim and Eugene tried talking to two guys sitting in the corner with no avail. However, towards the end of our time in the lobby, Eugene began talking to Chris. Chris had only been sober for 55 days and he very openly shared his testimony. He stated how he had been running from the Lord his entire life, how someone had prophesied he would be a preacher, and how he was so thankful he didn’t have to live his old lifestyle any longer. I loved to hear what the Lord had done for him, but also to watch the Lord activate Chris’s prophetic word of becoming a preacher right before our very eyes. As Chris was sharing, I noticed the two guys in the corner perk their ears up and sit on the edges of their seat by the time he shared how he came to accept Jesus as his Lord. How fun it was to see the Lord use my team members to plant seeds and then for an unsuspecting individual to water the seeds without even knowing it!
