Ruby Falls

What an amazing experience Ruby Falls and Lookout Mountain was! On our journey to see the tallest and deepest underground waterfall open to the public in the United States, we passed by a donkey formation and an angel’s wing…I love this as it stirred in me how a donkey carried Mary while she was pregnant with Jesus, a donkey carried Jesus into Jerusalem during Holy Week, and yet another spoke to Balaam because it saw the angel in the road with it’s sword drawn…how fun is it that the Lord places these reminders in our path as we go about our journey here on earth.

During the tour, we learned that Leo Lambert accidentally discovered the waterfall as he was drilling an elevator shaft to access a cave. The worker operating the jackhammer found a void and felt a gush of air. They entered the opening to explore the new found cave. The round trip journey took 17 hours. Had they gotten off just a little upon digging, they would have not found the cave. Or, if they had stopped crawling and not gone to the depths of the cave, they would have missed this hidden gem within mountain! Leo named this waterfall after his wife, Ruby.

The jewels and gems I took away from this trip is that the Lord will reveal the most beautiful treasures the deeper we go in pursuing His heart, we must not quit, we must keep pressing into pursuing more of Him. As we go…we must be alert and keep our eyes open as He will show us signs that He has been gone before and is with us the entire time (Deuteronomy 31:8).

The Lord also spoke of how it’s all a love story…it’s while pursuing His heart that He wants in the crevases of our hearts so He can pour out His living and healing water to restore and redeem what the enemy has stolen. It’s in the hidden places that He wants to reveal Himself to us the most because it’s where He can make Himself known the most to us!

And most importantly, He reminded me HE IS the end of our adventure! HE IS our treasure! We just need to keep seeking because there is always more! He is never ending and He is worthy! What we may think as accidental was intentional with Him! Oh how I love how He loves and I love that He increases our revelation of His goodness and faithfulness everywhere we look and go!

I am a daughter of the King of Kings and Lord of Lords! I am humbled that He calls me His own! I am learning to walk more boldly and confidently in who He has created me to be. My prayer is others will come to know Jesus as their Savior, identify with who they are in Him so they too can walk out the calling He’s places on their lives!
