Green – Part 2

The Lord out did Himself again this morning!  As I was standing at my post (as a crossing guard) on Green Street, a car pulled up and the gentleman in the back seat asked if my name was Susan. When I answered “yes”, the driver rolled her window down.  She asked if I remembered her…tears of joy ran down my cheeks because this young lady touched me to the core of my being.  She was beaming with joy and stated she wanted me to meet her baby!

img_1792Exactly one year ago, during engage week of reviveTUPELO, I had an encounter with her!  She was the first person I knew beyond a shadow of a doubt that the Lord wanted me to pray for.  She was crying and said she had nowhere to go.  I was still the crisis counselor at S.A.F.E., Inc. so was able to link her to their services.  She moved out of the shelter without notice after only a short time and I was unable to follow up with her due to her phone running out of minutes. I often wondered how she was, and a year later, the Lord crossed our paths again!  She stated she was doing great and had found her own housing!

What is so God, is the fact that last year, she was wearing a green dress and our team’s word of the day was “green.”  On the bracelets we hand out to those that we pray for, green represents our new life in Christ.  Well, she was pregnant and carrying a new life!  Now today, I met her again on Green Street and I could see that the Lord had transformed her and she has a new life in Him!  I also got to meet that baby she was carrying.  What brings my heart joy is the fact that this baby will grow up with a mom who is filled with hope and will be able to pass on her knowledge of our Heavenly Father!

I am a daughter of the King of Kings and Lord of Lords! I am humbled that He calls me His own! I am learning to walk more boldly and confidently in who He has created me to be. My prayer is others will come to know Jesus as their Savior, identify with who they are in Him so they too can walk out the calling He’s places on their lives!
