It has been a year since reviveTUPELO had our engage/outreach week! I was able to go out with Charlie, Mary Frances and Chris. We ended up going to a neighborhood that Charlie and Chris had already been to. I took a picture of the first door we came to. Charlie shared that the last time they were there, the little boy that lived there told his mother the only way to heaven was Jesus! Our prayer for this home is that by next year, the Lord will radically change them and the decorations will reflect that by being a celebration of the fall season and not Halloween!
We knocked on several doors and when we asked if we could pray for then, they said they were fine for now. Charlie commented that yes, they might be now. However, when their day comes if they don’t know Jesus, they won’t be! As we prayer walked, the Lord revealed to me we needed to be looking for open doors. The first open door we came to welcomed us! In fact, the female said she had seen Charlie and Chris a few weeks ago and had hoped they would return to visit her. She explained she was just moving in and was looking for a church family! We exchanged numbers and have already made plans to meet for church next week!
The team continued walking through the neighborhood and were able to pray with two other families. They were believers, but it we left them uplifted and encouraged. While praying, the Holy Spirit revealed to me He was present because He kept stirring up dust with gusts of wind! We knew He was fanning His Holy Fire! (Which was evident in the prophetic picture I took at the church.)
When we made it back to the church to share our testimonies, the Lord reminded me that the first time I had heard the word open was at this particular church and He used the open door painting that was painted during engage week to confirm my calling as a team member with TTR. What is so beautiful is a year later, it was all brought together again with our encounter! In the other teams, we had 4 come to Christ and 1 recommittment! The Lord is moving! To Him be the glory!
