This afternoon my team went to North Texas Collegiate Academy. Each team member sat down at a table of about 5 students. We went through the bands and Bible with them. Then we asked the question if there has ever been a time when they have invited Jesus into their hearts…and two of the boys at my table said no. When I asked if there was anything preventing them from doing so, they said no. Because of these two no’s, my heart began quickening in anticipation. When I asked if they wanted to…they said no once more! I was devastated. Kyle happened to be walking by the table and I asked for his help. I explained I hit a wall and drawn a blank. I shared with him what had transpired and he went onto share with them what their new life with Christ would consist of if they did accept Him as their Savior. They still said no…I left with my heart aching for these two young men. Please be praying the Lord will continue working on their hearts! I am thankful Kyle was there so Satan can’t use the lie that if someone else had spoken to them, they would have said yes. I am elated because 5 other students said yes to Jesus while we were there! GLORY!!!!
After we left, we went to Jack in the Box to eat. We prayed for their entire staff, but I felt led to continue talking to Maria. She is from the Philippines. She shared that her husband is not a believer and her daughter is still living in the Philippines. She explained she felt isolated because she works on Sunday, her co-workers are Catholic, and speak a different language. I asked if she would like to have someone disciple her, but she stated her husband wouldn’t allow it. Again, my heart began grieving as we left the restaurant with her waving at us with gratitude. My prayer is we will be able to see her there again before we leave!
