My team left out of the church parking lot full of joy and laughing hysterically. We talked about how excited and happy we were about the upcoming week and in the background we noticed the song “Oh Happy Day” on the radio. We knew God was setting the tone for an amazing week.
Before determining where we were headed, we stopped for coffee at a gas station. Our team leader prayed for one of the employees and I noticed the cashier leaned in to hear him share about Time to Revive. That night, the same cashier and her boyfriend were at the church and said another team came by later that day and she and her boyfriend prayed to receive Christ.
During our outing, we went to a church and prayed for church staff. But, I felt our task was not complete…
I believed my next group needed to go to the car wash with the sign saying “A Clean Car is a Happy Car.” They agreed this would be a great place to start. I was on a mission and hit a speed bump abruptly. The Lord was telling me to slow down, stay in His midst, and not get a head of Him.
Once we arrived, the team leader encouraged me to go and speak to the manager. He shared he was struggling and the entire team was able to pray and offer him encouragement.
Throughout the Revive trainings, it has been a running joke that no one has lived until they have eaten a Connie’s donut. I have been encouraging the out of towners to also try a dough burger from Johnie’s Drive Inn. I mentioned this to the group and not even the locals on our team had tried one. The vote was unanimous that this needed to be our next stop. After our bellies were full, each person on our team felt led to pray with someone within the restaurant. It was neat how God orchestrated prayer interaction for each team member. I stand in awe!
