This morning, our teams were challenged to incorporate praying for people into our everyday lives. When we discussed what we usually would be doing on a Monday morning, most stated they would be running errands. One of our team members needed to go to the grocery story, so we decided to go to Winco and Kroger.
On our way, we noticed a young man walking down the street. We stopped to ask him how we could pray for him, but he refused. We noticed a woman watching us from her car a crossed the street, so we asked to pray with her. She also refused, but her friend prayed for us to find the person who needed a touch from God today! What a wonderful way to spend this weekend! Neil came and brought our two puppies! I was thankful he was able to get a glimpse of how God is moving Thursday night during service here in Denton, TX.
My team went to a Thrift Shop this morning and prayed for the employees. How fun it is to walk out – 1 Thes. 5:11 “encourage one another and build each other up…”
This morning during prayer, I saw a vision of thick liquid falling over a building from heaven. I believe the Lord was showing me He is pouring out His glory over us, but the church needs to awaken so they don’t miss it and let it just fall by the way side. Then, as we continued praying I saw a silhouette of a person praying towards a cinderblock. When I asked what this meant, I was told it meant we needed to pray for the foundation! How fitting a group of elders felt led to pray over the gates of Denton!
I stand in awe!!! We had 35 teams hit the street tonight! I was blessed to go out with three kiddos from First Rock Youth group. I was able to review the bracelets and Bible with them in the van on our way to our destination. Once we arrived, we split up and my group began at Whataburger. I shared with John, the cashier, what we were doing and he excitedly asked if instead he could pray for us! He totally blessed our socks off!
This morning as a special assignment, my team returned to fire station 2. Captain Boots met us in our vehicle and told us not to get out or come back because it would be a waste of everyones time. When asked about his shoulder, he said it was worse than it’s ever been. Our prayers were lifted on his behalf as we drove away. Matt. 5:10
So how fun is it to go out on a team where you are the only one who’s primary language is English!?! It opened my eyes to how Spanish speaking people feel around us English speaking folk! However, they were very good to include me when I gave them a puzzled look!
