As I shared two weeks ago, the Holy Spirit gave me the word “open” at Revive Tupelo. I tried and tried to figure out what it meant…I began wondering if He was going to open a door…do I need to open my eyes…is He wanting me to be open to a big change…you get the idea. Well, my accountability partner asked me if I was still struggling with fear and to my surprise, I was able to tell told her no. You see, I hated that I was paralyzed in fear, as it meant I was lacking faith…and this is something I have been ashamed of. However, after I assessed it, I realized during my quest for the meaning of OPEN…I had been OPEN to Him…looking only to Him for direction instead of self for strength, guidance, and wisdom! Amen? I am so thankful for His grace and patience with me and the loving way He lets me know how to continue growing and improving my relationship with Him!
God’s Perfect Timing
The second time I went out with Revive Tupelo I ended up leading an amazing team. I questioned if I was ready to be a leader, but I submitted to His authority. We prayed for the Holy Spirit’s prompting and we were given the word green.
We set off and down Green Street. We noticed a lady standing outside her vehicle with her hood up. We ended up helping her move her car out of the road and prayed with her. She promised to encourage her church and pastor to get involved too.Continue reading “God’s Perfect Timing”
Humbled!
I so needed this confirmation…humbled the Lord reached out to me in this fashion!
Equipping the Saints
The first two training before engage week transformed my life. The lesson on “Jesus’ Approach” taught me how to interact with others by doing four simple things: LOVE-LISTEN-DISCERN-RESPOND. In John 4:1-42, Jesus taught us to go out of our way, set aside our own needs, and embrace the ignored, despised, and ashamed. When He engaged with someone, Jesus listened to their questions and stories. During their conversation, He discerned the condition of their heart and their openness to the Gospel. Once He did this, He responded. We are to respond however the Holy Spirit instructs.
BODY
Last year I heard the Holy Spirit speak the word BODY. I began seeking its meaning and found – 1 Cor. 6:19-20 “Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body.” This verse convicted me and I began eating healthy foods, exercising and drinking water. Because of His prompting and my obedience, I have lost weight and feel better than I have in years.Continue reading “BODY”
Converse
The first time I went out on a team with Revive Tupelo, the Lord taught me numerous things. The father of the young lady on our team told us to let her hit the ball out of the park. We prayed before leaving the church and the Holy Spirit gave us the word converse. Once we were in the car, we looked at the map and noticed there was a park with in the area we were supposed to cover. Due to all these promptings, we felt we should be looking for a person in converse shoes at a ball field.
